Buh-bye TeachScape
If you have EE artifacts in TeachScape we all have until the end of the school year to access the information. So, if you need to download anything out of TeachScape you will most likely have until May or June to get them.

Mid-Year Meeting
Just a reminder that non-summary year people will want to schedule a meeting with your coach as soon as possible. Please have your pre-assessment results, mid-point assessment results, and anything else you'd like to go over. Appointment calendars for Angie and Sheila are on the right.
Thanks!

Evidence vs Artifacts
We just received an EE/TeachScape e-mail from Amy about the difference between evidence and artifacts, as well as some hints:
There is a difference between an artifact and evidence.
- An artifact is something you upload. (Ex: syllabus, data, assessment)
- Recommendation: When naming the artifact, include the year (2014-15) since several year's worth of artifacts will be in the portfolio when they get to the summary year.
- Recommendation 2: In the description, indicate which Danielson components the artifact supports.
- Evidence is a brief statement you type in. (Ex: I attended a math workshop on Oct. 14 that focused on number sense.)
- The advantage of entering evidence is that it can be TAGGED to a particular Danielson component. Therefore, during the summary year when the administrator needs to score each component, anything tagged shows up for consideration when determining the score.
- Recommendation: Because of this, it is recommended that when a teacher uploads an artifact, he/she also enters a brief evidence (something like "Please see syllabus in artifact portfolio") so that the teacher can then TAG which components that artifact supports.
And, a reminder about Jim's recommendation for number of uploaded artifacts:
- Domain 1- 3 artifacts
- Domain 2- 2 artifacts
- Domain 3- 2 artifacts
- Domain 4- 3 artifacts
Our MS open lab will be Wednesday, February 11, 2:45-3:30; if you have any questions please feel free to stop by room 417!

Future Updates to Teachscape
At our last EE meeting, we received notice of some future updates that will be coming with Teachscape. As of right now, the company has been working to make the loading time faster for loading each page. In March, Rich-Text support will be added, which will allow formatting of text using bullets and paragraphs. Next year, we are supposed to see updates in the artifact and portfolio management as well as making the locking/unlocking requirements easier to manage.
Please continue updating your artifacts portfolio and uploading evidence to support your PPG and SLO progress.
